Abel Gomez: Bound Brook Council Candidate
Abel Gomez is a longtime community advocate, small business owner, and dedicated public servant with a passion for revitalizing Bound Brook. With 18 years of experience as an IT project manager, Abel brings a unique perspective and problem-solving approach to his work. His two children grew up in Bound Brook, where he helped start and coach the town’s soccer program, fostering a sense of community and teamwork.
For 15 years, Abel has served on the Bound Brook Planning Board, and for 9 years, between 2015 and 2022 he was a member of the Borough Council. During his time on the Council, Abel chaired key committees, including Economic Development, Finance, Public Safety, and Code Enforcement. He has served on every board and commission in town, demonstrating his deep commitment to Bound Brook's progress. Abel also founded the Arts Council, Historical Commission, and the Architectural Review Board, and was a key contributor to the Recreation and Shade Tree commissions. He currently serves on the Bound Brook Revitalization Board.
Abel has been instrumental in spearheading Bound Brook’s redevelopment efforts, championing projects that are revitalizing the town’s downtown and created new opportunities for residents and businesses. A strong advocate for environmental and community improvement, he has been a leading voice for the riverfront access project. Abel is running for Bound Brook Council to continue building on this momentum and ensure that Bound Brook remains a vibrant, thriving town for generations to come.
