Kendall Lopez has been a resident of Bound Brook for 24 years. He is a educator, having taught High School Chemistry and Forensic Science for thirty years.
Kendall was elected to the Bound Brook Council in 2022, and served as Borough Council President from 2024-2025.
He has been Chair of the Borough's Personnel, Administration, and Ordinances Committee since 2022.
Kendal has been a Board member of the Somerset County Governing Officials Association (SCGOA) since 2023.
Kendall served as a New Jersey Delegate to the National Democratic Convention in 2020.
Trina Folkes currently serves as a member of the Borough Planning board, and is excited to announce her candidacy for the local council.
As a resident of Bound Brook for the past six years, Trina has witnessed both the challenges and immense potential of the community. Her vision is to create a thriving environment where everyone feels heard, valued, and empowered. She prioritizes transparency, inclusivity, and sustainability in decision-making.
If elected, Trina will focus on improving local infrastructure, enhancing public safety, supporting local businesses, and promoting accessible public services for all residents. She is dedicated to engaging with the community, listening to concerns and ideas because every voice matters.
With over 25 years in the financial sector, including 17 years at Merrill Lynch, Trina has extensive experience in finance, property management, administration, and community engagement. She later transitioned into ministry and non-profit work.
Trina is a dedicated volunteer with over 30 years of service, having held leadership positions in youth programs, mentorship, and women's ministry. She is also an active member of the Bound Brook Democratic Committee. Her efforts have been recognized with endorsements from Emerge NJ, the NJ League of Conservation Voters, the Somerset County Democratic Committee, the New Jersey Federation of Democratic Women, and Elect Women New Jersey. In 2023, she was honored with The Eleanor Roosevelt Award. She has received multiple Employee of the Month awards, as well as the Senior Leader Award for her commitment to volunteerism.
Trina is married to Albert Folkes, and they have been together for 26 years. She is a mother to two adult children and has three grandchildren.
