The Bound Brook Democrats are dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of our community. We believe that strong, well-equipped, and responsive public safety services are the backbone of a thriving town. Under the leadership of the Democrats, Bound Brook made significant strides in rebuilding and strengthening the town’s public safety infrastructure.
Democrats took action to address the Fire Department's critical need for new equipment, implementing a plan to replace outdated, expired turnout gear and hoses. This ensured that Bound Brook’s firefighters had the tools they needed to perform their duties safely. A new ladder truck was purchased and the existing pump trucks were refurbished, extending their use by another ten years at a fraction of the cost.
One of the most important public safety improvements was the establishment of Bound Brook’s own EMS service. When the town's previous volunteer service ceased, residents had to wait over 45 minutes for EMS to arrive. The Democrats formed a new local EMS team, and today Bound Brook’s EMS responds to emergencies in under 3 minutes, making a vital difference in the safety and health of our community.
The Bound Brook Police Department also benefited from leadership restructuring, which created a more efficient, accountable department, better equipped to serve and protect the community.
Unfortunately, since the Republicans gained a majority on the Town Council, the Fire Department has experienced setbacks. Critical communication devices need to be replaced, a vital issue that the current Republican-led Council has failed to address. Bound Brook Democrats are committed to address this and other issues, and ensure that public safety remains a top priority for the community.
