Bound Brook Democrats: Committed to Public Safety

The Bound Brook Democrats are dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of our community. We believe that strong, well-equipped, and responsive public safety services are the backbone of a thriving town. Over the years, under the leadership of Abel Gomez and the Democrats, Bound Brook has made significant strides in rebuilding and strengthening the town’s public safety infrastructure.

When Abel Gomez and the Democrats took action to address the Fire Department's critical need for new equipment, they implemented a plan to replace outdated, expired turnout gear and hoses. This initiative ensured that Bound Brook’s firefighters had the tools they needed to perform their duties safely. In addition, a new ladder truck was purchased, and the existing pump trucks were refurbished, extending their use by another ten years at a fraction of the cost.

One of the most impactful public safety improvements was the establishment of Bound Brook’s own EMS service. After the town's previous volunteer service ceased, leading to response times of over 45 minutes, the Democrats, led by Gomez, formed a new EMS team. Today, Bound Brook’s EMS responds to emergencies in under 3 minutes, making a vital difference in the safety and health of our community.

The Bound Brook Police Department also benefited from leadership restructuring during Abel Gomez's tenure. This overhaul created a more efficient, accountable department, better equipped to serve and protect the community.

Unfortunately, since Abel’s departure from the Council, the Fire Department has started to experience setbacks. Critical communication devices now need replacing, a vital issue that the current council, led by Republicans, has failed to address. This failure puts the town’s public safety at risk, but the Bound Brook Democrats are committed to making these corrections and ensuring that public safety remains a top priority for the community.
